This introductory DRS course has been built upon proven Disaster Recovery Planning and business continuity planning “BCP” methodologies. Mile2 trainers keep up to date in the field by consulting as we believe that an equal emphasis on theoretical and real world experience is essential for effective knowledge transfer to you as a student. The DRS course presents information on the latest risks and responses. The class also enhances the business skills needed to identify protection opportunities, justify budget requests to optimize DR processes. Our course is developed on the generally accepted principals and uses the same methods and best practices. Its focus is professional DR/BCP planning for protection of assets and human life.
Day 3 will be spent with each student beginning their Disaster Recovery Plan with mentored oversight by the instructor.
Course Benefits:
Disaster Recovery Specialist graduates will have obtained real world DR/BCP knowledge that will help them recognize risks, vulnerabilities, and help safe guard assets against threats. Upon course completion, the student will gained confidence in how to create a DR/BCP plan.
Prerequisites:
- A minimum of 12 months experience in risk management, security, or facilities management.
- Solid knowledge of business assessment and writing skills

Objective of Lab Scenarios:
This is an intensive lecture class that focuses on best practices of DR/BCP planning.

Module 2: Risk evaluation & control
Module 3: Preparing business impact analysis
Module 4: Developing business continuity strategies
Module 5: Emergency response & operations
Module 6: Developing and implementing the business continuity plan
Module 7: Create an internal awareness & training program
Module 8: Maintaining & testing the business continuity plan
Module 9 Compliance, standards, and guidelines
Additional Course Information:
- Various sample deliverables are offered utilizing public domain templates, checklists, and forms.
- Templates will change continuously adapting to changes in the DR/BCP industry.
- Mile2 consultants working in the DR/BCP and security field will be dynamically implementing new scenarios that are over and above the base scenarios used in student workbooks.
- Please note that this is not a class that will explain the very intricacies of each and every technique and template available.
- Mile2 consultants constantly revise information used in this class.
Upon Completion:
Upon completion, the student will have a fundamental knowledge of DR/BCP planning. Students will enjoy a more in-depth course that is continuously updated to maintain and incorporate the ever changing DR/BCP requirements. This course offers up-to-date information that has been developed by leading risk management professionals. Participants will also take with them the foundation document for their own custom DR/BCP plan.
